Philip Lumbang – New Arrival at the Unit 44 Gallery

‘New Arrival’ sees a number of landmark occasions moving forward as one between the artist & Unit 44 itself.

First with Philip recently becoming a father he also becomes a new arrival himself with this being his first show within the UK. With regards to the gallery this marks the first US artist to grace the space as Unit 44 goes into its second year.

The artist will be showcasing a completely original body of work in the Newcastle space comprised of tiled pieces, locally found objects, boxes, hand painted signature characters, and some limited screen prints.

Former assistant to Shepard Fairey at Studio One Philip Lumbang’s style is still based on his childhood fascination with pop art, logo design and cartoons more specifically anything Hanna-Barbera.
